Palaeolithic Age/Old Stone Age
The Palaeolithic Age is considered to be the dawn of human culture, spanning from approximately three million to 10,000 years ago. Throughout this period, early humans made primitive tools from stones and sustained themselves by hunting wild animals, foraging and fishing. Fossils of hominins (a group including modern humans and members of the genus Homo) found in China—such as Yuanmou Man, Lantian Man and Peking Man—are representative of the Palaeolithic.
