Oil paint

Oil paint

Oil paint consists of a pigment suspended in an agent like linseed oil. It is known for its slow-drying nature that allows painters to make changes and corrections during the painting process. Once dried, oil paint hardens to form a durable, smooth surface. Unlike water-based paints, oil paint cannot be thinned with water; instead, its consistency can be diluted by adding solvents such as turpentine or white spirit.
