Kesi (‘Carved silk tapestry’) is a silk weaving technique that uses a method known as tongjing duanwei (‘continuous warp and broken weft’). Only the warp threads extend across the entire loom. This technique uses dyed silk as weft threads and raw silk as warp threads.
