Cuo jinyin (gold and silver inlaying) is a technique of applying gold and silver wires and sheets to the surface of objects, primarily bronze and ironware. This involves preparing deep grooves into a base surface through incising or casting and then inserting pieces of gold and silver to fill the empty space. The object is then hammered and polished to fix in place the inlays.
